“COD” Constitutional Oncogenetics Dictionary: an application on OS/Android environment.

In the age of genomics, oncogenetics is a growing discipline. It is defined as the identification and management of families where there is a suspected hereditary risk of cancer. This relatively new discipline is part of modern medicine that aims to be both preventive and predictive.
To facilitate the acquisition of accurate knowledge by oncogenetic practitioners we developed this dictionary.
We reviewed a substantial number of published scientific information dealing with this subject in a book.
Here we introduce a description of the book and the smartphone application entitled Constitutional Oncogenetics Dictionary.
The book (Constitutional Oncogenetics) gives precise descriptions of major syndromes that cause a predisposition for cancer. The first part examines the most common syndromes worldwide, including the heightened hereditary risk of breast and ovarian cancer and Lynch syndrome. The second part introduces less common infracentesimal syndromes, such as Bloom syndrome and Fanconi syndrome. For each syndrome, we provide a description and information about prevalence, genes, mode of transmission, tumoral specter, screening, and disease monitoring.
The OS/Android application gives a summary of the book contents interactively regarding the book chapters.
“Constitutional Oncogenetics” has a French and English version. The application interfaces are in French and English.
The book and the application facilitate the acquisition of accurate knowledge by oncogenetic practitioners, other medical specialists, and medical students.
